Hi friends!
My name is McKelvey Smith and I am graduating from Anderson University with a degree in human development and family studies in December 2020, which is way closer than I would like it to be! I am originally from Charleston, South Carolina and have three older sisters. My favorite thing to do is volunteering at the hospital, which has unfortunately been put on hold for now. I love working with kids and am pursuing a career as a child life specialist which will give me the opportunity to work with kids in the hospital.
Over the past year, God has been teaching me that His plans are always better than my own. Going to Ecuador on missions was not in my plans for 2021, but I felt Christ calling me to apply for this opportunity. I was specifically drawn to this trip because of the opportunity to serve in special needs ministry, which is something I have a heart for. I am so excited to see what God has planned for this trip and trust that He will move in remarkable ways. I can’t wait to be a part of His plans and join Him in this journey!
